Have you ever had those friends that you can be away from for months but the moment you see each other it’s like no time has passed at all?
For me, that’s Mary. If you’ve spent any time at all on my website or my blog she is all over it! She is always my go to girl for pictures, sonic cokes, or a quick trip to the candle aisle at Wal-Mart.
Throughout pharmacy school, Mary had been a constant and a great friend. She tells the best jokes, she is great at breaking the ice by making anyone laugh (including our professors), she sings the best songs (IYKYK), and makes the best food.
I always hoped that Mary Alison would find someone that would see how great she was and is. Then she met Graham and I saw that Clemson ring and immediately knew this one was different! If you know Mary, you know her only fault is she is an avid Gamecock. I had never seen her get so excited to have a boy over for dinner like she did for him. Admittedly, I loved it because it meant we all got to eat good when he was coming over (Mary was never quite good at cooking for 2 people, LOL).
As the years went on, I saw them get closer and closer. I saw her trust him and fall in love. And I saw him appreciate her and love her in the way that I always hoped someone would.
So when Graham messaged me in February to ask for me to come to Charleston to photograph him proposing, I had to make it work! He had thought about the perfect location – a dreamy spot by the water on Wadmalaw Island. I had told Mary I needed someone to pose for some photos by the water for my portfolio (she always says yes for pictures, so I knew this would get her!). When we found a pretty spot covered in spanish moss with the light leaking through the trees, Graham got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. I didn’t even have to wait to know she was going to say yes. And look at that ring, he did a great job!!!
I can’t wait to see where life takes these two and I know it’ll be full of love and laughs.
Congratulations, Mary & Graham! I love you two!!
xoxo,
Julie
